Why Power wash your house, Westbrook Ct

dave's photoFor many of us, our home is our biggest financial investment!

So, doesn’t it make sense to protect that investment?
This blog, Why power wash your house,

Westbrook CT was created to give you the reasons why to power wash your home.

By power washing your house on a regular basis,

say every two years, you are removing dirt, mildew, algae, bird droppings and pollutants that are in the air

. All these things eat away at the stain and paint and end up causing wood damage.
By keeping your home clean you not only protect it, but it retains in beauty and curb appeal.

Maintenance is lower due to healthy wood, your paint and stain job will last longer.

Of course, when looking for a professional to power wash your home, make sure they have the following:
1. Licensed with the Department of Consumer Protection in your state.
2. Make sure they have workers compensation and liability insurances.
3. References upon your request.
Pay attention to how fast they get back to you for an estimate, and make sure they give you a detailed written estimate signed by both of you before work starts.

College Pro Painters NOT a good deal! Madison Ct

I have been a painting contractor in Connecticut for over 37 years.  It takes years to become a skilled professional painter.  College Pro Painters is actually an oxymoron!  How can you be a professional painter at a college age?  I am all for young college age adults trying to earn money in the summers between college years, I had two college age children and my son helped me in my business, but he was not a professional painter!

College Pro Painters are not lead certified, the company is lead certified, but each individual painter is not, they work under the College Pro’s umbrella.  Lead certification is very serious and important!  You have to go to classes and be taught how to test for it and when you find it how to take care of lead in the proper way!

This is only one instance of being a professional!  When you hire an established company, you should be able to call them after the job is done and talk with the person you hired.  College Pro painters are not like that.  The employee turnover is huge.

But the most important thing is to hire someone that is experienced and knows what they are doing and they do a beautiful professional job!  It takes skill and patience!

I hope this article College Pro Painters NOT a good deal! Madison Ct was helpful. You can call us for  any type of professional advice, we are happy to help!

$500.00 DOLLAR OFF COUPON FOR EXTERIOR, painters Guilford Ct

$500.00 DOLLAR OFF COUPON FOR EXTERIOR, painters in Guilford Ct

Take advantage of this great deal!  How can we take $500.00 of the exterior just like that?  Well, it’s easy, it’s a numbers game!  We already have about 15 jobs booked for the spring, and as we add to our volume we are able to give discounts because overall we have enough worked booked!   If we were a company that was living job to job without the volume, you can’t give discounts, there’s not enough work to do that, but when you have a lot of jobs, it’s possible! If we were a company that was living job to job without the volume, you can’t give discounts, there’s not enough work to do that, but when you have a lot of jobs, it’s possible!  It’s a win win for the customer and for us!

This is a limited offer, as soon as we reach the total amount of jobs that we are looking for the offer is withdrawn so that we don’t over book.  dave's photo

Guilford Savings Bank Review, Guilford Ct

I have been a painting contractor in Guilford Ct for many years, and I am familiar with a lot of the local businesses here in Guilford Ct.  As a business owner I would like to share my opinion about our local bank here, Guilford Savings Bank, and this is why I wrote this article Guilford Savings Bank Review, Guilford Ct

Guilford Savings Bank, Guilford Ct has been serving our town for 138 years!  They have branched out to other towns such as Old Saybrook Ct, Madison Ct, Branford Ct.  I have been a personal and business customer for over 9 years.  I used to bank at the large nationwide banks and although I had all kinds of great access and all the bells and whistles technology could provide to my account through my laptop, ipad and iphone, when there was a problem or I needed personal attention the big bank was sorely lacking.

I remember one christmas when my wife and I went to our large big nationwide bank to withdraw cash for our christmas shopping that day and found that our deposit we made two days earlier was missing!  Not only was it missing, it wasn’t even recorded at all!  Luckily my wife had her deposit slip in her wallet to prove the transaction took place, but unfortunately we had no access to that money until a different department that was not even in our state could look into it, which didn’t happen and get resolved for another three business days!

Last year, I had a situation where my checking account was hacked into through my visa debit card, over 338.00 dollars was taken!  I noticed this on a saturday!  I called the bank and not only did I get a person, it was resolved right away!

I am writing this article Guilford Savings Bank Review, Guilford Ct to share this information with the public because as a business owner and a private customer, I know the value of a good local bank. When I walk in the bank I am greeted by everyone!  They know my first name!  I am taken care of quickly, there are always a lot of tellers ready and waiting!  If you have a problem or issue, their main goal is to make sure you are happy with the end result.

If you have any questions or would like to talk to me about this article, please feel free to contact me, my email, phone and website are below.  Hope this article is helpful!

I highly recommend Guilford Savings Bank, Guilford Ct

Painting Contractor Westbrook Ct

Hiring a professional painting contractor can really take the stress out of painting your home, but how to choose the right one?  Getting a referral is a great start, but the contractor that is being referred to you by a well meaning friend or family member may have worked well for them, but might not suit you.  This is why I created this article “Painting Contractor Westbrook Ct” Lets get the technical issues out of the way right now in this article.  Here they are:

1. Make sure they have insurance

2. They must be a licensed contractor in Connecticut.  You can find out if they are licensed and what the status of the license is at: https://www.elicense.ct.gov/lookup/licenselookup.aspx

3. More then one way to get hold of them, such as cell phone, office phone and email.

4. A good website with detailed information about what they do and how they go about it.

5. Referrals at least 2-3

6. A clearly written detailed estimate of work to be performed with a time frame and cost.

Now, once you confirm all of the above lets get to the unspoken part of finding a contractor. I am writing this not as a painting contractor owner, but a consumer.

Say you call one of the highly recommended contractors that a friend or family member raved about, and you meet with him but you feel that you just don’t connect with him and the first thing you question to your self is “is it me”?  It most likely is not you, but a simple personality clash.

When I invite a contractor to my home, the most important thing for me is that I feel like I can talk to him/her.  I need to know that they want to talk about the job, not just the facts but about what kind of end result I am trying to accomplish. I need to feel that they are happy to be here and eager to work with me.  The contractor must be patient and let me talk.  It’s important that he asks questions, this implies that he is thinking about everything I am saying.  I need to know he understands me and I don’t want to feel like I am wasting his time or he is in a hurry to leave.

Once a contractor leaves, I look for an estimate in writing within 72 hours.  If I don’t get one, that’s a deal breaker for me.  Some people might say “he’s really busy, that’s a good sign, he must be so good” NOT TRUE!  What that means in my mind is he can’t keep up with his demand.  He doesn’t properly hire help to service the work load and bookings that he has, which means my future schedule with him can go right out the window!  If they are that busy then he should make that clear to me, and let me know that if he gets my job, when he can get to it.  I dont’ mind waiting, but I don’t want to be jerked around as if my schedule and life do not matter.

So, I hope this perspective helps! There’s a lot more to hiring a contractor then the obvious reasons!

How To Paint A Garage Floor Guilford Ct

Garage floors take a beating, but they don’t have to look like they do! If your garage floor is stained with grease, dirt and rust, painting it can give the floor and the garage a new fresh look! You can choose from a wide range of colors, but if you work inside your garage alot, you might want to consider a lighter toned color that would reflect light.  You can also add colorful specs to the floor!

A latex base paint is good, or you can use a one step or two step epoxy paint system for garage floors.  Sherwin Williams and Rings End both carry great products for garage floors as well as other main paint stores.

When you do choose the brand, be sure to pay close attention to the instructions and in particular the temperature range the floor must be.  The floor temperature and temperature in the air is not the same thing, usually when the paint fails it’s because it was to humid or cold.

Check the floor surface, if there are cracks or holes be sure to fill the cracks and holes with concrete patch.  If your garage floor gets wet alot, treat with  a concrete water proofer before painting, do not use a waterproofer if you are using epoxy on the floor.

Next you need to clean the floor, if there is grease stains use a de-greaser and brush and thoroughly clean the floor, you can cut down on elbow grease by renting a floor maintainer machine.  Make sure the floor is clean of any grease or sealers of any kind.

Next you are ready to apply the expoxy kit or paint.  Be sure to read the instructions carefully.  With the epoxy kit, you have about two hours to apply, so map out beforehand how you want to go about it.  Make sure the weather outside is not wet or humid.  You will need a two to three day drying time and then another two to three days before you put your car in the garage!

I hope this article How To Paint A Garage Floor Guilford Ct helped!
