How A Great Painting Job Gets Done Part 1, Madison Ct

It’s one thing to sort through estimates and find the price that fits your budget, but an important factor to getting a great painting job is in the prep work! This is why I created this article “How Great Painting Gets Done, Madison Ct. I  understand that price is important but what good is it to go by price alone if you don’t get a high quality paint job?  It’s like that old saying “Buy for price, buy twice”!  But, you don’t have to worry about that!

https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=j8K3gV_FNZ4

Here are a few things to look for in an estimate:

-Make sure they are licensed with the state of Ct

-Make sure they have a lead license

In the estimate, make sure that they detail all the prep work that will get done, like, replace rotted wood.  Scrape and sand. Use a high quality primer, make sure a high quality paint product like Benjamin Moore is used.  Proper putty and caulking should be done.

There should be a clean looking crew that shows up on time and is neat and conscientious.

Without good prep work nothing else matters, it won’t look like a high quality job.

Please feel free to call us at Coastline Painters LLC at 203-458-2073 with any questions, we are happy to talk with you.  I can also come out and give you a free professional home evaluation!

50 Shades of Gray House Painter, Guilford Ct

Nowadays there are so many different shades of color to choose from!  White isn’t just white anymore!  There could be twenty different whites! Each paint company had their spin on colors as well!

What’s the  solution to choosing the right color for you before painting an entire wall, room or exterior of your home?  Pick a handful of samples and have your painter put them on the surface that is getting painted!  Don’t be shy about how many greens or whites you need put up to decide!  Some colors are only a shade different from the next, but when it’s on a wall or the outside of your home, the sunlight changes the color through out the day!

A light color can look very different once applied!  Many stores now sell tiny little tubs of paint that are perfect for this without breaking the bank!

Check out how the color looks as the light changes during the day.  You will be surprised how a color can look one way on the chip but look totally different on the wall!  Make sure the paint is completely dry before you decide as the color changes when it goes from wet to dry!

So, I hope this article 50 Shades of Gray painter, Guilford Ct was helpful!

It’s not the “tie up” version! LOL! But it’s important!

Please feel free to call me with any questions you may have or if you would like some help picking out a color!

How A Professional Painter Does Preparation, Madison Ct

What seperates a professional painter from everyone else?  It’s the approach in how you prep your job!  The success of a beautiful paint jobs lies in the preparation work!

You need to take the proper time to evaluate the job, see what is needed! Is there any moisture problems?  Is there rotted wood?  Once you evaluate the work to be done, the next step is outlining the order in which things should be done, after that, it’s taking the proper time and patience to scrape, sand, do any wood repair, pick the right products to use and apply them.http://youtu.be/N2_BifV1c4w

Oil or Latex Paint For My House, Westbrook Ct

Sometimes it can be a little confusing deciding on latex base or oil base paint for you home.  Nowadays the paint industry is putting a lot of their effort into producing really great AcrySolic/latex base paint lines.  Oil is great, but it has a few small drawbacks.

I like to use Acrylic over Oil because it dries faster (in about 15 minutes) versus Oil which can take hours, depending on the temperature!  Oil really smells!  There are really great low or no VOC acrylic paints out there like Benjamin Moore’s Natura brand that is fantastic!

There are some good oil base primers, but I am in favor of the Acrylic.  If you would like some professional advice, please call us!  We are happy to talk to you over the phone or come out and visit you for a free professional estimate or evaluation of your home!

How To Get A Great Painting Estimate, Madison Ct

There’s a few important things you need to have in your estimate that is very relevant to a great estimate!  This is why I created this article How To Get A Great Painting Estimate, Madison Ct.

First, go online and do a search for a contractor that includes your hometown and perhaps a few towns over, if you live in Madison Ct, you can google:  house painter guilford, madison, branford ct.  This way you are seeing a nice variety of contractors.  If you want to keep in strictly in your town that’s great also.

Once you contact the painting company, pay attention to how long it takes for them to get back to you if they don’t answer the phone at first.  See how long it takes to have them call you back, schedule the estimate, (do they take a week to meet with you?)  Once they visit you, how long does it take to get a written detailed estimate with the proper information in it?  What kind of information are you looking for? It’s this:

Full details with the prep process, how many coats of paint, type of materials, when they will schedule the work, how long the job will take.

Also, check that they have a lead license, a state Home Improvement Contractor license.

Make sure they have liability and workers compensation insurance.

I hope this article How To Get A Great Painting Estimate, Madison Ct is helpful.  Please feel free to call me with any questions you may have or to schedule an estimate!

Anyone Can Be A Painter, But Not A Professional Painter, Branford Ct

Everyone tries their hand at painting at some point in their life.  The difference between a homeowner painting a room and a professional painter is experience.  This is why I created this article Anyone Can Be A Painter, But Not A Professional Painter, Branford Ct.  Experience is the difference between an “ok” job and a fantastic job!

Your home is one of the biggest, if not biggest financial investment you make in your lifetime. It’s important that you take good care of it.  It takes years to perfect a professional painting job!  One of the biggest concerns is lead.  Homes built before 1978 most likely have lead.  You need to go to lead classes to learn the safest way to remove and dispose of lead in a home to prevent people from getting sick and hurting our enviroment.

It takes years to learn the most efficient and proper way to prep walls, trim, doors to make sure you get the best outcome.  The way you cut in a room matters, the kind of products you use.

All of this takes time and education.  You truly get what you pay for!

For some guidelines on how to hire the right house painting professional and what to look for, give us a call, we are happy to help you!  There are lots of house painters out there, but they are not all the same!

I hope this article Anyone Can Be A Painter But Not A Pro Painter, Branford Ct was helpful!

Please feel free to call us for any professional advice or a estimate for your home!

Lead Paint On House Branford Ct

Lead based paint was commonly used to paint interior and exterior houses in the mid twentieth century. We created this article Lead Paint On House Branford Ct to give you some more information about lead paint and the importance of having a lead certified painter test your home!

Most homes built and painted before 1978 had lead paint.  Due the toxicity of lead paint and the incredible health issues it can cause such as developmental delay, damage to your organs, and  your nervous system just to name a few, it’s very important to have your home tested for lead paint before you do anything!

How do you check if your home has lead paint?  Call a professional painter that is LEAD CERTIFIED!  The EPA requires ALL painters to have lead certification!  When you call to make the estimate appointment, ask if they are lead certified! Make sure CERTIFIED, not if they just know how to test for the lead!

Testing for lead is relatively easy, there are kits now available in hardware stores.  That’s the easy part!  The complicated part and the area where the certification really comes in handy and concerns the health and well being of you and your family’s health is the way the lead paint is removed from your home and disposed of!  It must be done the way the EPA outlines to prevent further exposure to you and your family, it must be done using lead safe work practices!  Improper removal of Lead based paint can lead to illness!

If you have any questions about lead based paint and how to check that your contractor is properly certified, please call us! We are very happy to provide you with the correct information to help  you choose a certified painter!   We are painting contractors in Guilford Ct and serve most of the Connecticut area!  We offer free painting estimates and professional evaluations!
