Commercial Painting In Connecticut

We are a full service company that does Commercial Painting in Connecticut as wells as private residential work.   One job we did was in a nursing home, the hallways and a main recreational area.  They important part about this kind of work is keeping on schedule and having a very clean and neat job.  Here is one of our videos about this: http://youtu.be/fyhMAefRs_0?list=UUPqhZXm3tlefzuw_-YJCAPw

The hallways are always busy with residents strolling up and down them going to eat or activities so we don’t have the luxury of taping off an area where we are working. This is not a problem for us though, we are used to be highly conscientious on private work and we carry that same work ethic and consideration to our commercial work as well.

As always, please call us for any professional advice on painting you may need, even if you don’t hire us, we don’t mind at all helping you out over the phone!

Wow 1 Day Painting! Branford Ct

There is a company out there called Wow 1 Day Painting!  They advertise that they can do a job in one day for a customer, while it’s possible they can do a small job, or a room in one day. That’s why we made this blog Wow 1 Day Painting! Branford Ct .  Usually it’s a hook to get their foot in the door of a customer.

We also offer the same services, we are very exact with what can be done in one day and what can’t be done.  It’s important that the job maintains a high quality standard and doesn’t suffer due to a painter rushing to complete the job in one day simply because they claimed it can be done in one day.  We will let you know exactly how long a job takes, we do that so we uphold a high standard of painting.http://youtu.be/ZkGovwMnMkI?list=UUPqhZXm3tlefzuw_-YJCAPw

How Much To Paint A Room, Madison Ct

Sometimes people will call the office and want a price over the phone to paint a room for them.  It’s not an easy answer!  A lot of the time the customer just doesn’t want to waste our time if we come out and it doesn’t fit their budget.

First, it’s hard to give a price over the phone because we don’t know what condition the room is in.  Does it need extra patching?  Or extra prep above the norm or maybe it’s a very very easy job that won’t take much time at all.   So, we can end up over pricing or under pricing the job by not seeing it first.  That is why we created this blog ” How Much To Paint A Room, Madison Ct” http://youtu.be/dyZLkiB9yAU?list=UUPqhZXm3tlefzuw_-YJCAPw

So, please feel free to call us for an estimate for your home or for some professional advice!

It’s that time of year when we want to make the house look as nice as possible for the holidays!  A great way to do this is painting!  A new color or freshening up a tired room can really make a great impact! That’s why  blog “Interior Painting Guilford Ct” to give you some tips!

When looking for a contractor, make sure they are licensed, that’s really important, you can check with the state online.  Make sure that the contractor is insured as well.

You want someone that has a lot of experience with interior painting.  Interior painting really has very little room for error!  When we meet with a customer to do a professional evaluation and estimate we make suggestions such as wall finishes and type of paint.  We offer non-toxic and odor free paints with no VOC in the paint.  Here is a link to an article I  did on our blog about no VOC paints:  http://coastlinepainters.com/uncategorized/what-is-no-voc-paint-in-guilford-ct/

How To Remove Wallpaper With Chomp, Madison Ct

People always dread when they know it’s time to take down wallpaper!  They are worried that it will not peel right off and will end up in little tiny strips and pieces!  Well, you don’t have to worry! That’s why we created this blog “How To Remove Wallpaper With Chomp, Madison Ct”  here is a video

We found a really great product that helps up when we need to do a wallpaper removal job!  The product is called “CHOMP” and it’s the best stuff we’ve ever worked with! all you need is a small garden sprayer and some

water and Chomp!  I like to mix equal parts water and Chomp.  Spray the mixture evenly over the wallpaper starting from the top and going down, just a light mist.  Make sure that you have drop cloths on the floor.  Allow the mixture to sit for about five minutes, then start at the top and pull a little corner and gently pull the wallpaper off the wall.  After all the paper is removed, there will most likely be a film of wallpaper paste, so I spray one more application of the Chomp on the wall and wipe if off with a big wet sponge.  This should leave your wall clean and smooth!  If you have some difficult spots or the paper is not coming off in large sheets, you can use a wall paper scoring tool first over the paper and then spray Chomp over the paper, let sit and remove.  If you have any questions or need some professional advice please call us!

How A Professional Painter Does Preparation, Madison Ct

Hi I’m David Moffitt, I’ve been a painting contractor for over 37 years and I have learned that the most important aspect of your paint job is the preparation!  I know that this is a no-brainer, but there is a lot to it!

You need to really check the surfaces before you paint them, check for rotted wood, moisture areas, cracks, holes, uneven surfaces.  Once you outline the areas that need attention, you need to take your time and know how to properly fix these issues.  It does no good to buy the highest quality paint if it’s not going to be applied to a properly prepared surface!  That is why I created this blog ” How a Professional Painter Does Preparation, Madison Ct.http://youtu.be/N2_BifV1c4w?list=UUPqhZXm3tlefzuw_-YJCAPw

Please feel free to call us for a professional estimate/evaluation of your home!  I am happy to walk the job with you and explain things I see and how to fix it!  If you are doing the job yourself, please call if you would like my advice, I am happy to give it!

How To Solve House Painting Problems, Branford Ct

Everyone has problems!  We have the solutions to your PAINTING problems!  Hi, I am Dave Moffitt and I’ve been a painting contractor for over 37 years and I’ve seen it ALL!  One thing I have learned is if you are a painting professional, you have the answer to just about any painting issue out there!  That’s why I created this blog “How To Solve Painting Problems, Branford Ct”

I’ve seen moisture problems, color problems, rotted wood, houses that were painted with the same color but the color was uneven on different parts of the house.  Faded stain, chipped paint, chalky surfaces!  You name it, I’ve seen it!

Homeowners sometimes like to paint their home themselves and run into all kinds of problems.

Call us if you need any advice on a painting/staining problem, or if you want product advice.  Even if we are not hired to paint for you we are very happy to help you over the phone!

College Pro Breaking The Law, Guilford Ct

I’m not trying to pick on College Pro painters, but it seems to me that that the law should apply to everyone.  As I drive around my home town and other local towns in my area, I see the College Pro signs just plunked down anywhere they please. This is against the law.  You are not allowed to put a company sign on any property that you are not contracted for work there.

I have been painting in this area for over 35 years and I know many other local painting contractors that I respect and they would never do this and my company doesn’t either!  We follow our local town laws and respect them.

It’s a cheap illegal way to do business, which is the bottom line for College Pro Painters.

Here is my video with a photo of an illegally placed sign on town property:

Please feel free to call me with any painting questions, we are happy to help you!

How A Great Painting Job Gets Done Part 2, Madison Ct

The biggest key in getting a great paint job is hiring someone that understands the importance of prep work!  This is why I created this blog How A Great Painting Job Gets Done Part 2, Madison CT.

Like I mentioned before in a previous article, I understand that price is important, but it should never be the only thing you look at!  There is a vast difference between a true professional painter and a person that thinks they are a professional. Here is a good video below:

The biggest part of your estimate should be about the preparation done on your home before the finish paint is applied.  What kind of prep work?  The first thing to look for is rotted wood.  During the estimate the person performing the estimate should check for any bad or rotted wood. This must be removed during the prep phase and new wood installed.  Normally, it’s a ballpark figure to do the carpentry repair.  They should be able to give you an hourly carpentry rate and an hour range for the labor.

Any newly replace wood should have primer put on it before anything else!

Does the house need to be power washed?   It’s a very good idea to properly wash the house to remove dirt and/or mildew.  Applying paint over a dirty surface would cause a lot of issues.

So carpentry repair and rotted wood removal is a very big step in the preparation process!

I hope this helps, please look up my How A Great Painting Job Gets Done Part 3, Madison Ct for more details!  If you have any questions, please call us!  We are happy to give professional advice over the phone!

Sincerely,dave's photo
